got to run a camera for a couple of shows, which was exciting.
met a lot of the new faces i've been seeing on the board.
had to run to mcdonalds thru a drug bust for 2 terribly hungry girls.

man, i have update issues
there really is a whole lot going on with me.
april 12th is the release of the new mindless self indulgence album
no show here this time around. i pray we get one sometime in the summer.
anyone that had the "oh, i'll catch them next time" mentality, it's all your fault if we don't.
moderating the mindless message board has been a blast.
biggest thing coming up is the filming of a promotional video for the dresden dolls. i'm really eager to see how this area takes to them. i've liked them for awhile:) the grand ms arcadia is going to be assisting me with getting the word out. the show is on april 7th at the norva.
i'll be travelling to chicago for a mindless show.
i'm really excited about that. the dc and philly shows are almost set in stone as well. |

KRS-One has hit back at the New York Daily News, after the newspaper ran an article that labeled him a “Hip-Hop Anarchist.”
In yesterday’s (October 14th) popular Rush & Malloy’s daily gossip column, the paper accused the Bronx bred rapper of defiling the memory of people who were killed in the 9/11 attacks on the United States at the New Yorker Festival, where KRS was a panelist.
The article also accused KRS of siding with Al Qaeda, the terror organization that is blamed for orchestrating the deadly attacks.
“Like everyone I was shocked to read that I and other African-Americans actually ‘cheered when 911 happened’ and that I have ‘declared my solidarity with Al Qaeda,’” KRS said in a statement. “When I read my words taken out of context I was shocked and disappointed that the Daily News would go this far to assassinate my character and distort my views.”
KRS called the piece irresponsible journalism and pointed out that the magazine never attempted to follow up or even interview him to clarify his statements.
“I was making an objective point about how many Hiphoppas as well as the oppressed peoples of the world felt that day,” KRS continued. “I am a philosopher and a critical thinker, I speak truth and I urge people to think critically about themselves and their environment. Yes, my words are strong. Yes, my views are controversial. But to call me a terrorist is simply wrong!”
KRS said that he never intended to disrespect the memories of those who lost their lives and said that he was making a statement.
“I was just as saddened as everyone else on 9/11,” he continued. “However, for many of us that were racially profiled and harassed by the World’s Trade Center’s security and the police patrolling that area as well as the thousands of American protesters that spoke out against the World Trade Organization months before in Seattle, Washington there was a sense of justice, a sense of change, a wake up call watching the twin towers fall.” |

on nov 8th at midnight, norm, garrett, and i will be having a big halo 2 party at my house. i really hope ya'll show up for it.
we definatly need more tvs. i'll have a case of the bawls soft drink to assist in everyone staying up all night. this is a pretty awesome event for us. if you think it won't be fun, cause of our playing level, just know that it's a new game for us too.

i got a sidekick 2
i've always been a big fan of the sidekick. but the sequel is so much worth the cash i had to plop down. it added yahoo to it's list of ways to communicate. which is ok, msn woulda been better.
the built in camera is ok. the new keyboard is really hot. i won't be able to rub the keys off of it from constant use:) my favorite part is that i can still upload programs via the development community.
if you have a sidekick, you've probably noticed it doesn't come with too much entertaining. there are many hard working people out there pumping out programs for the sidekick in hopes that one gets picked up. and as a member of the development community i get to test them:) i was afraid i'd lose this ability with the sidekick 2. but when i logged in and saw that the sdk(software development kit) for the new sidekick was released, all fears subsided.
it was a giant pain in the ass to buy this phone. seriously.
yesterday afternoon i began calling t mobile to find out how much the phone would be.
i was bombarded by people trying to sell me a new plan. "i don't want a new plan, i just want the phone" i told them. but no one out of the 5 people i had to talk to, could give me the price of the sidekick 2 without buying any kind of plan. so i call one of the stores. i had a girl tell me that it'd be 379.00. sounded ok. i left to go get it and when i get there i ask for a sidekick 2. again, i have to explain how i only want the damn phone, nothing else. you think it'd be easy. i could just give them the money and recieve the goods. noooooo. they first tell me that my name has to be on the account i'm on. so i call my roomate, he talks to the lady and then that part is squared away, next as she's ringing me up, the computer says there was a balance on the account. and again had to call my roomate to clear this before i could give them all my money to buy a phone. i was tempted to just snatch the damn phone and leave the pile of money on the counter. would that be stealing?
either way, dealing with t-mobile was the biggest pain in the ass i've ever had to dealt with.
i'm only glad that the payoff for dealing with them was the beautiful sidekick 2.

| the big giant hurricane |

any of you that know me, know i have an affinity for the weather. especially of the tropical nature.
i've always thought hurricanes were neat. for the most part i like being in them. the last hurricane that hit here norm and i (while wearing proper safety attire) ran around in it and had a great time. i love the physics behind them. i also happen to be pretty good at predicting their path. there is a really really nasty one about to hit florida though. i was in nyc when i got the first alert on francis. it said "an extreamly agressive tropical system is moving off of the coast of africa" it already had a slight form and good rotation before it even left africa. it has been one of the best formed storms i've ever seen.
right now it's going thru a transition where the inner wall fades away and the outer wall becomes the new inner wall.
it might be a catagory 5 tomorrow.
unfortunatly this storm is about to harm people in florida.
while i like hurricanes, they are a lot neater when they stay at sea(or be a weak one that hits us)
i really hope no one dies. it'd be a sad thing to miss out on halo 2, let alone the rest of their lives.

tonight's lan event f'ing rocked
thanks for all who showed up.
it was really remincent of the games we played at johnny's house.
the teams weren't exactly balanced, but it was way fun nonetheless.
andria happened to have a spare tv and i got 4 xboxes up.
there was a mad dash for operational controllers, but everyone that wanted to play got to. i'd like to do this on a regular basis. if people keep coming they will get better, it's how norm and i got our start.
in other news, i love my job. sometimes people randomly bring in electronics in the store trying to sell them, usually one of the employees buy them, as they really don't want much for them. today i paid a guy 50 bucks for one of those 200 dollar portable dvd players with the flip up screen. i used to have one of those and very much missed it. sometimes you just can't pass up the deals these people offer. i got a really awesome sony dvd player for our living room for 20 bucks.
yeah, i love my job.
tomorrow norm and i are going to do the paintball thing with a bunch of my friends from the navy. i've been outfitted with an automatic paintball gun. it is very very liberating to pop off 20 rounds in a few seconds. we tested it in my backyard tonight. i'm sure the neighbors thought we were preparing for a strike. the one i have looks just like an mp5 (my favorite submachinegun of all time) and it's accuracy is damn near perfect. |
